About

Governance came first. The platform came second.

GAIA exists because content that carries an organisation’s name now has to survive a level of scrutiny that didn’t exist a few years ago — and most AI tools were never built to meet it.

Why GAIA exists

Built from a working system, not a whiteboard.

GAIA didn’t start as a pitch. Its governance model was forged in a live production environment held to an exacting standard — one where a single unsupported claim fails review — and proven there before it was ever generalised into a platform. What you see is that working model, opened up so any organisation can set its own standard and have it enforced the same way.

The principle

Defensible, not compliant.

GAIA enforces the standard you set and produces the proof of how every piece was made. It isn’t legal advice and it doesn’t certify compliance — you define the standard and keep the final sign-off. What GAIA guarantees is something narrower and more useful: that your content can stand up under review, because you can show how it was made.

The model

A focused governance layer, not another content firehose.

GAIA is the governance and evidence layer for AI content — eight kinds of governance enforced as a piece is generated, with a record of how it was made attached to the result. It isn’t built to help you publish more, faster. It’s built so that what you do publish is content you can stand behind.
